Elgin has finalised a development rights deal with Severn Trent Green Power (STGP), a pioneering renewable energy company specialising in organic waste recycling, to construct three large-scale solar farms in Leicestershire, Warwickshire and North Yorkshire. These projects are 'ready to build' and include grid contracts, planning consents and land leases. Together, they will contribute approximately 150GWh of generation capacity to the UK national grid, with the potential to rise to over 185GWh, enough energy to supply electricity to around 70,000 homes annually.

Ronan Kilduff, CEO of Elgin, stated, "We are proud to support Severn Trent Green Power in its ambitious move towards a diversified renewable energy portfolio. This partnership embodies our shared commitment to a low-carbon future, and together, we are helping the world become climate neutral before 2050."

This sale follows a milestone portfolio sale achieved by Elgin in February 2024 of 16 solar projects across Ireland to Allianz Capital Partners on behalf of Allianz Insurance Companies and further institutional investors. As part of this sale, Elgin will provide construction, asset management, trading and optimisation services to the portfolio, with three of these sites breaking ground in Oldcastle, Co. Meath, Edgeworthstown, Co. Longford, and Kilmacthomas, Co. Waterford, Ireland.
