Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Project Manager to oversee the construction activities for our project pipeline. This role is critical to ensuring the successful delivery of our large-scale solar PV and BESS projects, from design through to commercial operations. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of construction management, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.In this role you will manage and coordinate the construction activities for multiple solar PV, BESS and PV/BESS co-lo projects. You will work with the wider Construction Management team to enhance the development and delivery of Elgin Energy’s project pipeline to commercial operations by providing guidance throughout the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.To be successful in the role you will have competency and experience in Project Management of renewable energy projects, the ability to manage relationships with multiple stakeholders effectively, the ability to work off your own initiative and be commercially astute.What you will do:

  • Lead and manage the construction of multiple solar PV, BESS and PV/BESS co-lo projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Prepare, manage, and report on project construction milestones, budgets, cash flows, and schedules.
  • Administer and manage high value FIDIC based construction contracts, with responsibility for successful contract execution and closure.
  • Maintain close working relationships with the internal Construction Management team, external contractors, consultants, suppliers, and other relevant stakeholders throughout the construction process.
  • Proactively identify and solve problems as they arise, taking preventative measures to avoid risks to the project schedule and budget. Manage and report on deviations from project schedules, budgets, or scope.
  • Coordinate with the wider project delivery team to ensure seamless project execution from design through to commercial operations.
  • Promote a culture of safety, efficiency, and quality within the construction teams
  • Support the development of tender documentation and review, in conjunction with the wider Elgin team, contractor designs, processes and commercial proposals.
  • Support the negotiation of efficient and cost-effective contracts for project delivery where required.
Your profile
  • Degree in Construction/Project management or civil/mechanical/electrical/Energy Engineering or related discipline.
  • Ideally 5 - 7 + years’ experience working in renewable energy.
  • Proven track record of construction project management and experience in the construction of utility scale renewable projects.
  • Evidence of successfully managing multiple projects to demanding deadlines.
  • Strong working knowledge of administering FIDIC construction contracts.
  • Strong technical knowledge of all relevant Construction and Health & Safety standards and regulations across the UK and Ireland
  • Knowledge of the AC and DC electrical design of solar PV plants, energy storage and grid connection methodologies.
  • Strong commercial, technical and safety conscious approach to risk vs reward decision making.
  • Proficient in communication, resource management and the use of software, particularly Microsoft Office suite.
  • Valid driver's license for Ireland & UK..
