Job Description
Elgin Energy is looking for a Financial Accountant, on a permanent basis, reporting to the Finance Manager.
What you will do:
- Managing the day-to-day finance functions, including reviewing reconciliation of all bank accounts and oversight of intercompany transactions;
- Preparation and review of month-end reporting process and accounts;
- Production of consolidated monthly management accounts together with supporting financial analysis and commentary;
- Contribution to internal and external reporting requirements;
- Preparation and review of VAT returns in Ireland and the UK;
- Co-ordinate and prepare annual audit pack for external auditors; and
- Answering ad hoc queries from both internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaboration with various business units within the Elgin group.
Your profile
The ideal candidate will have:
- ACA/ACCA qualification with 1+ year PQE;
- Experience in quarterly / annual management accounts preparation through to consolidation across multiple jurisdictions extremely desirable;
- Strong foundation in financial accounting;
- Advanced Excel skills;
- Excellent communication skills and a willingness to engage immediately across a variety of teams; and
- Ability to work on own initiative as part of a growing finance team and company overall.
